A small plane crashed at the Burlington airport Friday night.

The single-engine Maule went down around 5:15.

Airport officials say it appears the plane veered off the runway during its approach when its landing gear failed. Two people were on board and both are okay.

The Burlington-based flight was a practice run for the pilot.

The airport is working with a federal transportation officials on a formal report.
