Beechcraft Super King Air: Government plane sold for spare parts

A plane, which in conjunction with the government jet has been flying ministers around Ireland and Europe for decades, has been sold to a US firm for spare parts.

The Beechcraft Super King Air plane, which ferried ministers around at a cost of €1,700 an hour, had been in storage for three years prior to being sold for just over €230,000. It was bought for €317,000 in 1978.
