Did You Hear the Flyover on Saturday? Two jets made an exploratory flight, preppinig for arrival of space shuttle Endeavor

Two low-flying jets were heard throughout the Los Angeles skies on Saturday, including Altadena and Pasadena.

According to NASA, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., they were performing some low-altitude flying in preparation for the space shuttle Endeavor's arrival September 20th. The Endeavor will fly into Los Angeles on the back of a 747, and move into its new home at the California Science Center.

Two jets—an F-18 Hornet and a T-38 Trainer — took a dry run, looking for potentially challenging areas or obstacles such as radio and TV towers. Come the big day, they will have camera equipment on board and take pictures of the shuttle flying over iconic landmarks such as Disneyland and the Hollywood Sign.
