Authorities: Virginia woman dead, husband injured after plane crash in mid-Michigan

ANTRIM TOWNSHIP, Mich.— A woman was killed and her husband was injured after a small 1940s era plane they were in crashed into a Michigan barn Monday. 

 WLNS in Michigan has identified the couple as 60-year-old Nancy Feldvary. Her husband, Louis Feldvary,  was flying the plane. The couple is from Daleville, WLNS reports.

Louis Feldvary was seriously injured in the crash.

The single-engine plane crashed after taking off from a private airstrip nearby.

ANTRIM TOWNSHIP, Mich. -  Authorities say a Virginia woman is dead and her husband injured after a small 1940s plane in which they were flying crashed into a mid-Michigan barn.

MLive.com and The Argus-Press of Owosso report the single-engine plane crashed Monday in Shiawassee County's Antrim Township shortly after taking off from a private airstrip nearby.

Names and a hometown of the couple weren't immediately released. The sheriff's department says the 61-year-old man was piloting the plane and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened about 65 miles northwest of Detroit. The barn was destroyed and parts of the plane were scattered throughout the area.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
