Pakistan International Airlines flight delay flayed

A NATIONAL carrier of any country is a reflection of the state of a country but our airline, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has proved that it needs a severe jolt to wake up and get its act together, said Eng Abdul Majeed Khan of Pakistan Visionary Forum on Sunday.

Referring to mismanagement and delay of PIA’s flight PK 790, he said it was supposed to fly on Dec 6 at 5:30 pm from Toronto, Canada to Lahore but it departed two days later. There were no floods, extreme weather conditions or for that matter any other external factors for this; it was only a lack of effective management and contingency planning on part of PIA for this, he said.

Passengers who might have to meet a loved one on death bed or participate in the wedding ceremony of a family member have to face this agony due to PIA. Robbing people of these precious moments is unforgivable and there has to be accountability of PIA, he added.
