Merlin helicopters grounded over safety fears

A fleet of 38 Merlin helicopters has been grounded because of safety fears. The Royal Navy's submarine-hunting Merlin Mark Ones have developed a problem with their computerized recording systems. The Ministry of Defence says the aircraft, which are based at RNAS Culdrose, will continue to fly operationally without interruption, but all other flying has been suspended while the affected components are checked.
