Fire crews train with water bomber

During the training session at Jamestown to up-skill CFS fire fighters in refilling water bombers are CFS Jamestown brigade lieutenant Wayne McLean, Region 4 CFS training officer Phil Tapscott and SA Country Fire Service training staff Matt Davis and Corey Dunn.

Mid North Country Fire Service crews received specialist training in re-filling water bombers at Jamestown last weekend, ahead of the approaching fire season.

Two purpose built single engine air tankers made the trip from their Adelaide Hills base to Jamestown for the nationally accredited training session.

SA Country Fire Service State Aviation Planning Officer David Pearce said one of the key outcomes of the day was to make CFS crews aware of the potential dangers during aircraft refills.
