F-16s scramble to escort civilian plane into Centennial Airport (KAPA), Denver, Colorado.

CENTENNIAL - A civilian plane travelling from Chicago to Centennial on Thursday afternoon was escorted to its destination by a pair of F-16 fighter jets.

The plane lost radio communications after departing Chicago.

The aircraft started its trip in Pittsburgh and stopped in Chicago before heading to Centennial according to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

The pilot was intercepted by NORAD after losing its radio communication.

The aircraft landed at Centennial Airport without incident.

The pilot was be met by local authorities after landing.
