ReplyDeleteWonder why there is no report on KR about the R44 WBTV helicopter crash in Charlotte NC on Nov 22, 2022 with 2 fatalities
ReplyDeleteFor the same reason nothing has been discussed about the Dallas Air Show crash. I give my post about two nano-seconds to stay up....
DeleteI had calls from local media right after the WBTV helicopter crash . My friend is a retired airline pilot who was interviewed by WBTV abut the cause of the crash. It would be helpful to get comments from the public on KR .
DeleteThe WBTV pilot had odd pilot records on FAA web site . One record was listed as Jacques Christopher Tayag with pilot license shown but expired medical dated 12/2007 . Another record was listed for Christopher Jacques Tayag with no pilots license shown but with a current medical dated 06/2022 but has now been removed from FAA web site . However the report showing the license with expired medical is still showing on FAA wen site . Seems odd same last name Tayag would have first and middle names reversed on 2 different reports on FAA web site then FAA delete one report with current medical but not license but leave other report with expired medics but showing pilot license .
ReplyDeleteThe pilots name has no bearing on this.
ReplyDeleteJust need separate report on WBTV crash so public can comment .
ReplyDeleteJust noticed a report on KR about the WBTV helicopter cash .
ReplyDeleteYou obviously wanted to comment on that WBTV crash, as you’ve posted in three threads about it. Speaking constructively, perhaps it would be better to wait for an actual thread and post relevant information versus assumptions and dangerous advice (like waiting for snow to blow off wings during a takeoff roll).
ReplyDeleteI'm curious -
ReplyDeleteWhat would a typical salvage value with be with damage like that?
Some A&P's specialize in getting salvages like that and making them airworthy again. This isn't the same as for cars... there isn't a "salvage" title permanently attached to a plane.
DeleteAnd the extensive training A&P's have means they can repair anything. The engine alone is in good shape as no propeller strike but curious why the propeller was bent... sadly might have been vertical when the plane was flipped.
Either way for 10-20k of parts and the rest just labor it can be in good shape.
