  1. Aircraft operated by Auburn University suffered catastrophic loss of power upon go around from instrument approach. This was according to the report the third time that week the aircraft suffered some loss of power and or engine roughness thought to be due to spark plug issues. Aircraft never received maintenance on either occasion.

  2. Report from 10/26/2022 of the addition of full throttle causing the engine to "shake severely" in flight, resulting in a forced landing at an airport, following a satisfactory magneto check prior to the flight. Instructor pilot was instructed to perform another runup, and as before experienced no issues in run up. Aircraft returned to operation the same day with no inspection or action by maintenance. Maintenance instructed instructor pilot not to write up issue and made no record available to staff or students. Total time on engine: 2197.9, never overhauled, maintenance last performed 85.7 hours prior to incident.
