  1. We sure are losing many Ag pilots of late - these were practically brand new aircraft.

    1. "these were practically brand new aircraft."

Mid-air collisions are not affected by the aircraft age.

    2. Five fatalities, including these latest two Air Tractor AT-802s this year, from eight ATs down from 2021 till now in the US. per ASN

    3. Age matters when it comes to standard equipment - like the ADS-B Out transponders that are on all newer AT aircraft.

I don't understand your comment, these two aircraft were relatively new, both were 2021 models. So, what are you saying?

    5. Being new airplanes, they would have had air bags built into the shoulder harnesses. They inflate momentarily on initial contact, but apparently do not offer protection for subsequent impacts.

  2. It's not all about the electronic toys on the aircraft. They were both operating in VFR conditions...see and be seen. Unfortunate.

    1. The electronics are a great help at times and a big distraction at times. The terrain and traffic warnings are not presently geared for ag.

  3. Robby Lassiter killed Rusty Johnson due to the fact he was ferrying at tree top height instead of the 500 feet required by law. Robby Lassiter should be charged with homicide.
