FLORIDA, Massachusetts – Three people were taken to the hospital after a small plane crashed in Florida, Massachusetts Friday night.
According to State Police, the small plane carrying three people lost contact with the Federal Aviation Administration just before 7 p.m.
Officials informed authorities that the plane was attempting to make an emergency landing at the North Adams Airport after losing power.
State Police told 22News Troop B patrols, Florida Fire Department and North Berkshire Ambulance located the small plane after it crashed in a wooded area off Church Street around 6:50 p.m.
On-board the plane were two adults and one minor. All three were taken to Berkshire Medical Center with minor injuries. One dog also aboard the plane was uninjured.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the Massachusetts Aeronautics are now working to determine what caused the small plane to crash.

Three people suffered minor injuries when the small airplane they were flying in crashed into a wooded area in the Berkshire town of Florida Friday evening.
David Procopio, spokesman for the Massachusetts State Police said troopers from the Cheshire, Lee and Shelburne barracks converged on an area just over the North Adams and Florida line.
Officials said the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing at North Adams Airport at about 6:45 p.m. when airport personnel lost contact with the plane.
Searchers located the wreckage in a wooded area approximately 1,200 feet from Church Street in Florida. Two adults and a teenaged passenger were located and found to have suffered minor injuries. A dog in the plane was unharmed.
The injured parties were transported to the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield for treatment.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission are investigating the incident.
