The Villages man, 87, donates plane project to Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 534

THE VILLAGES — Several members of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 534 recently helped an 87-year-old man transfer his dream to a younger generation.

The group traveled from Leesburg International Airport on December 21 to the home of Harry Frank in The Villages. There, they picked up a project from Frank, who said he would probably never complete his Thatcher CX4. Frank had been working on the plane for the past 15 years while undergoing the traumas of life, such as moving, the loss of his wife and the overall effects of aging.

Frank recently decided to donate the Thatcher to the chapter, and the project will be used in the group’s youth program.

Knowing that he would not fulfill his dream of finishing his plane and one day flying it, Frank hopes that the younger generation will follow his dream and finish the plane. He said his ultimate goal is to see it fly.
