Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing: Incident occurred December 21, 2017 at Northeast Florida Regional Airport (KSGJ), St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Florida.



ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A single-engine plane ran off the end of a runway after landing Thursday afternoon at St. Augustine airport, according to St. Johns County firefighters.

Crews were called to the Northeast Regional Airport after a small airplane ran off the end of Runway 31, the fire department stated.

A spokesman for the department said the plane had just landed when it was hit by a gust of win, flipping the aircraft onto its nose.

No one was hurt.

F5 on final behind him. Tower asked him to expedite off runway at intersection. He attempted and ground loop was result. No where near the end of 8000’ runway. Nosed over in grass. Minimal damage.
