A Parkersburg pilot was forced to make a second emergency landing on Interstate 77 in Jackson County, W.Va. after more engine problems.
The latest emergency landing happened just after noon Tuesday, and has closed one Northbound lane of I-77.
Emergency officials say the pilot was cleared for takeoff just before noon Tuesday, after a mechanic attempted to fix the engine problems that caused the pilot to make the first emergency landing on Monday evening.
The pilot tells emergency crews after Tuesday's takeoff the engine died so he was forced to make the second emergency landing on I-77, not far from where he made one the day before.
The first landing happened in the lanes heading north, near the Fairplain exit, during Monday's evening commute. No one was hurt.
The plane was taken to a nearby gas station until a mechanic could work on it Tuesday morning.
No one was hurt during the second emergency landing. Emergency crews are still on the scene.
One northbound lane of I-77 is closed in the area.

Engine trouble forced a Parkersburg pilot to land his small plane on Interstate 77 in Jackson County on Monday afternoon.
It happened in the lanes heading north, near the Fairplain exit, during the evening commute.
Jackson County Emergency Services Director Walter Smittle says when the pilot realized he wasn't going to make it to the nearby Jackson Airfield because of engine trouble, he decided to make the emergency landing.
The pilot had left Parkersburg, West Virginia, earlier in the afternoon in the J-3 cub aircraft -- en route to Charleston, West Virginia. That pilot has more than 6,000 hours of flying time.
According to Smittle, the landing was textbook and well executed.
He said the pilot followed all protocols put in place to alert drivers that the emergency landing would be happening.
Smittle said prior to the landing the pilot also circled the area three times to make sure there weren't any power lines he would hit on the way down.
First responders say the pilot touched down at a smooth 40 mph.
Emergency crews got the plane off the interstate and took it to an old gas station in Fairplain as they worked to get the aircraft fixed.
No one was hurt.
The interstate near mile-marker 130 is now back open.

One of two northbound lanes of Interstate 77 in Jackson County is closed after a plane landed on the interstate.
According to WV 511, the plane is at the 130-mile marker of I-77. That's between the Kenna and Fairplain exits.
WV 511 is warning drivers to be prepared to stop and to use caution when traveling through this area.

The plane that landed on I-77 in Jackson County last night took off today around 12:25 PM and then landed again on the interstate at around 12:35 PM.

A small, single engine plane landed on I-77 near the Fairplain/Ripley exit this evening.
I-77 northbound was closed in the area for a brief time, but has since reopened.
According to a viewer, it appears the pilot landed the plane in the northbound lanes and pulled over to the side of the road. The viewer says that the pilot ran out of fuel.
The plane was taken off of the interstate and off the exit.
It is planned to stay there for the night until a mechanic can ensure that the plane is safe to fly.
West Virginia State Police and Jackson County Sheriff's Office are responding to the scene.
