OLD FORGE — A pilot and his passenger suffered minor injuries Thursday night after their plane crashed on the runway of Old Forge Airport, according to the Town of Webb Police Department.

Police said officers and troopers with the New York State Police were dispatched to a reported plane crash at 11:25 p.m. at the airport on North Street.

The pilot, Oswego resident Thomas J. Murray, told officers that a wheel assembly broke apart from the aircraft upon landing, which caused the plane to overturn on the runway, police said.

e and his passenger, Oswego resident Diane C. Murray, were transported to a Utica hospital via Old Forge ambulance for evaluation, according to the police department.

The investigation is being handled by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Police said the Old Forge Fire Department assisted at the scene.
