The Pitt-Greenville Airport is closing at 4 p.m. today and is expected to be closed for a week.
It is expected the rise in the Tar River will cause flooding that will affect the runway as well as buildings at the airport.
Airport officials expect the road to the airport to be inaccessible as of tonight.
