A press release issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation yesterday, served to congratulate the Tropic Air team for receiving the coveted International Airport Transport Association’s (IATA) Standard Safety Assessment Certificate at the Latin America and Caribbean Air Transport Association Annual General Meeting last month.
This is a voluntary evaluation program that emphasizes safety management and is the first such award given to an Americas-based airline. The release stated: “It gives us great pleasure to have a Belizean-owned carrier pioneer the way forward in our region.”
