Hutchinson Island Plane Convention kicks off Sunday morning

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -  About 16 small aircraft will land on the Grand Prize of American Road Course, at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

This is a part of the National Agricultural Aviation Association’s 49th annual convention.

This year’s convention features the world’s largest trade show for agricultural aviation, a live auction, exhibits, and networking. One of this year’s speakers includes Colonel Mark Tillman - the Commander of Air Force One during 9/11.

This type of event promotes the importance of using airplanes to help farmers produce safe affordable food, while also protecting wildlife and controlling pests, such as mosquitoes.

This event kicks off Sunday, but attendees will be at the convention center starting Monday and running through Thursday.
