A Las Vegas-based general aviation operator has received Federal Aviation Administration certification for its repair facility based at McCarran International Airport.
Gama Aviation, which has operations in 45 countries and manages more than 145 aircraft in 17 countries across five continents, provides fixed-based operator services in engineering design, aircraft management, charter operations, training and aviation and ground management systems.
Under the new certification, announced at the National Business Aviation Association convention that ends Thursday in Las Vegas, the company will be able to work on airframes, engines, instruments and radio equipment at its Las Vegas base.
There are 2,927 private jets representing more than 12 percent of the national fleet, based in Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah, with 335 of them delivered between 2010 and 2014.
