BEIJING— Boeing Co. expects China will take deliveries of more than 6,000 passenger aircraft over the next 20 years amid a growing economy and an expanding airline industry.
The U.S. airplane maker said it expects China will take deliveries of 6,020 aircraft in the period between 2013-33, said Randy Tinseth, Boeing's vice president of marketing. By comparison, China currently operates 2,310 aircraft.
Single-aisle planes will account for the lion's share of the growth, he said, amid an expected rise in traffic from low-cost carriers. Boeing expects deliveries of single-aisle craft to total 4,340 over the two-decade period, he said.
