PARIS, TX-- The city of Paris has taken the first step to bring several new hangars to the city's airport.
The
council unanimously approved a resolution that allows the city to enter
into an agreement with TxDOT, to fund construction of a 10-unit
T-hangar at Cox Field Airport.
The total project cost is about
$1.2 million, but the city is responsible for only 10% of that cost
which will be spread over two budget years.
"The engineering 10%
is due this upcoming budget year, and the following construction money
due in the following budget year after that," said Director of
Engineering Shawn Napier.
Napier says the resolution will now
have to be approved by the TxDOT Transportation Board. The airport
currently has a waiting list of 23 who want to rent hangar space at the
airport.
