Man injured in skydiving accident: Suffolk Executive Airport (KSFQ), Virginia

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A man was hurt in a skydiving accident Sunday, according to Suffolk Police.

According to a news release from the City of Suffolk, it happened at 3:52 p.m. at Suffolk Executive Airport, located at 1200 Gene Bolton Drive.

Officials said the 23-year-old skydiver’s parachute did open, but he had a hard landing.

The victim was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries. No additional details about his condition were released.
