Slidell passes two resolutions for airport improvements: Slidell Airport (KASD), Louisiana

The City of Slidell’s municipality recently passed two resolutions with the purpose of garnering funds to improve the Slidell Municipal Airport, specifically to improve fuel tanks, piping and site work.

According to the City, fuel tanks at the Slidell Airport are deteriorating and are in need of repair but the City itself does not have the funds to foot the entire bill.

Slidell Mayor Freddy Drennan’s administration filled out a grant requesting help from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Division of Aviation.

As a sponsor of the airport, the City will put up a matching portion of $50,000 for a grant while the state would put up $275,000 in the case the process moves forward.
