DRBA Welcomes Cape May Brewing Company to Cape May Airport

Ribbon Cutting, Open House Scheduled for December 1, 2011

On December 1, 2011, the principals of Cape May Brewing Company will join with representatives of the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA), local elected officials, and business leaders to host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony to officially launch the Cape May Brewing Company’s new tasting room and public tour program.

What: The ribbon cutting ceremony is the official opening of our tasting room where locals and tourists can tour the facility, learn about the brewing process, and taste some of the varieties of beer. Cape May Brewing Company merchandise and growlers-to-go will also be available. Started in June, 2011, Cape May Brewing Company is Cape May County’s first and only production brewery. In July, the Company, which leases approximately 1,500 square feet of space from the DRBA, landed its first account – Cabana's Beach Bar and Grill in Cape May, NJ.

When: December 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m

Where: Cape May Airport Building 96, 1288 Hornet Rd., Unit 5, Rio Grande, NJ 08242

Why: Cape May Brewing Company makes several varieties of beer, including Wheat, Stout, and the flagship beer: Cape May IPA. One of the Company’s goals is to incorporate locally grown products into the production process as much as possible. To this end, the Company produces a Cranberry Wheat, which is prepared using cranberries from a bog in the N.J. Pinelands and a Honey Porter, which made from honey harvested from a beehive maker in Marmora in Upper Township. Other seasonal beers will be produced in the future. Cape May Brewing Company’s locally crafted beer is currently on tap at Cabana’s and SeaSalt Restaurant in the Ocean Club Hotel in Cape May and the Company plans to add other locations in Cape May County as production expands. The company’s principals include Robert Krill, Ryan Krill and Chris Henke.
