LAS VEGAS, Nevada (KLAS) – A private jet landed safely at Harry Reid International Airport early Saturday after its nose gear failed to activate, an airport spokesman said.

The Cessna Citation 680 contacted the airport at about 7 a.m., indicating a problem with its front landing gear, according to airport spokesman Joe Rajchel.

Rajchel said the private jet landed with both its rear gears properly activated at about 8 a.m. on runway 19L as emergency services stood by.

“Two persons were aboard and there were no injuries,” Rajchel said.

The plane was towed to a fixed base operator for inspection at about 11:30 a.m., Rajchel said.

He said the plane was scheduled to land at Harry Reid, but he did not know where it came from.

    This pilot is a rockstar! He/She landed that aircraft like it was on a feather bed.
    Good job and super planning, skills, and execution. They held the nose off until it just wouldn't fly anymore. ADS-B shows about 87 kts when the nose touched down. Also, good decision not to deploy the thrust reversers, which would have slammed the nose into the runway.
    Congratulations to the two pilots onboard. It couldn't have turned out any better under the circumstances.

    1. In order for the thrust reversers to deploy the cessna sovereign requires both the main wheels and the nose wheel to have contact with the ground. The thrust reversers wouldn’t have worked, idiot.
