Team Mini-Max: Accident occurred May 08, 2022 at Hinde Airport (88D), Huron, Erie County, Ohio

A Team Mini-Max kit aircraft crashed at Hinde Airport in Huron on Sunday, May 8, 2022. 


Update 5 p.m.

HURON TWP. — A Castalia man sustained non-life-threatening injuries after a single-engine airplane crash Sunday afternoon in Huron Township. 

Kaden Keegan, 20, of Castalia, was piloting a Team Mini-Max ultralight plane when he encountered high winds that caused him to nose dive into a field just before 2 p.m. Sunday, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Eric Mentis.

The crash occurred at Hinde Airport on Boos Road close to BGSU Firelands' campus. 

Keegan was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center for treatment, Mentis said. Alcohol and drug use aren't suspected. 






HURON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Sandusky post is handling a single-engine plane crash that occurred Sunday afternoon at Hinde Airport on Boos Road in Huron Township, a patrol dispatcher told the Register.

Additional details, like whether anyone sustained injuries, the number of people involved in the crash and more are unknown.
