  1. Anybody know if the missing cowling was the aft upper cowl assembly?

    1. Some mechanic didn’t tighten down the screws on that cowling, so yeah…. when it was flying, the wind tore it right off.

  2. It's always best practices to FULLY inspect the engine cowling(s) after a maintenance check. Those fasteners don't just come loose on their own over time. A maintenance tech has on more than one occasion been responsible for bringing an aircraft down due with fatalities from overlooking missing fasteners after a procedure.

  4. THAT AIRPLANE WILL FLY WITHOUT THE COWLING EVEN IF IT CAME OFF IN AIR, INEXPERIENCE WITH ALL THESE CHEAP OWNERS WHO HIRE LOW TIME PILOTS TO SAVE A BUCK..
