LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - It was a terrifying moment for several passengers who were on board a small aircraft after it made a rough landing.
The incident happened on Wednesday at a little afternoon at the Laredo International Airport.
The Airport Police Department called the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting unit who shortly after responded to the scene.
Fortunately, all six passengers were uninjured and refused medical treatment.
A former military airfield. I learned how to fly out of an Air Force base aero club for military and civilian employees and their immediate family members. When I had my first landing with my instructor at a small airport I could not believe how skinny the runway appeared at first to my eyes. But of course that adjustment didn't take long. Wonder what happened here. Maybe the pilot wasn't used to the large airfield 150' wide runway and had a flare optics misjudgement resulting in a bounce oscillation?
