SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (KGBT) — DPS officials said no injuries were reported after a small plane made an emergency landing on South Padre Island on Monday.
According to Staff Lieutenant Christopher Olivarez with the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Cessna plane landed on State Highway 100, near Beach Access 6.
Olivarez said that the plane had mechanical issues.
Olivarez said that right now they are waiting for a pilot to show up to clear a path, so the plane can take off.
DPS said there was no property damage.
The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the scene.
