Emergency Officials responded to a plane crash at the San Marcos Regional Airport Thursday afternoon.

According to the City of San Marcos Police Commander Christopher Tureaud, runway 13/31 is closed due to the landing crash of a small airplane.

Tureaud said three people were on board the aircraft at the time of the accident. However, no injuries have been reported.

Officials did not say when the runway would reopen; however, the rest of the airport is back to operating as normal.

According to City of San Marcos Police Department Chief Chase Stapp, “While SMPD responded to the incident to provide immediate life safety support, we actually aren’t the investigating agency on this. DPS in conjunction with FAA will work the incident and determine cause.”

The potential cause of the accident has not been released yet. Neither has the identities of those involved.

  1. Landing checklist "final items" power set, props full forward, flaps 30, nose wheel centered. Complete.
