Cleared to fly 20 new routes, TruJet to add more aircraft

Hyderabad, March 11

Turbo Megha Airways, the holding company of the brand Trujet, on Sunday said it has permission to fly 20 more routes and plans to strengthen its fleet.

The new routes, which include Ahmedabad, Porbandar, Jaisalmer, Nasik, Jalgaon, Guwahati, Buranpur, and Tejapur, give the airline a national carrier status in just over two years of starting out as a regional player.

More aircraft

TruJet, which currently operates with a fleet of five aircraft, plans to add seven more planes. It now connects 13 destinations flying 32 services daily. The low-cost carrier said it has till now carried over ten lakh passengers, a milestone achieved on January 19 on the Goa-Hyderabad route.

TruJet is operating from Hyderabad, Aurangabad, Chennai, Goa, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Nanded, Kadapa, Mysuru, and Vidyanagar under the UDAN scheme.

New service

On March 25, TruJet plans to start a Chennai-Salam service.

“TruJet is now reaching out to serve passengers with a whole new approach. To encourage more people to travel by air, TruJet is offering fares starting from ₹599,” said Senthil Raja, Head - Commercial, Turbo Megha Airways.
