HUDSPETH CO., TX (KTSM) - Texas Department of Transportation and the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Office are investigating a plane crash into a lake near McNary.

According to DPS, the plane was discovered in a water retention lake south of I-10 at the McNary exit, just east of Fort Hancock.

It initially appears as though the pilot abandoned the plane's wreckage after the crash, as no sign of any pilot was found at the scene.

Hudspeth County Sheriff's Office is heading the investigation. The FAA has been called into investigate. No information regarding the make or model of the plane was immediately available.
