The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating an emergency landing in central South Dakota.

According to FAA public affairs officer Elizabeth Cory, a Cessna 175 landed near Onida around 11:50 a.m. Thursday. 

Sully County Chief Deputy Sheriff Curt Olson says the plane initially landed on a gravel road and the pilot pulled the plane into a grassy field. Olson says on one was hurt.

The FAA is conducting an investigating to find out what forced the plane down however Olson says it appears the aircraft experienced some sort of engine trouble. 

The Sully County Sheriff's office, Sully County Emergency Management and the Highway Patrol responded to the incident.
