AIRCRAFT, EXPERIMENTAL VELOCITY TXL, FORCE LANDED INTO TREES OFF THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY, SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA.
SEBASTIAN — A small plane crashed Saturday morning on the Sebastian Municipal Airport property.
The Velocity aircraft crashed about 9:30 a.m. in woods on the airport property shortly after takeoff Saturday with a father and son on board, said Commander John Blackledge of the Sebastian Police Department.
No injuries are reported, Blackledge said, and an engine failure is a possible cause of the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the crash, Blackledge said.
