Alaska State Troopers and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating a report from a RAVN Air pilot on December 18 that someone shined a laser light into the aircraft cockpit while the pilot was attempting to land at the Selawik village runway.
According to the report, the light caused temporary blindness which forced the pilot to climb to a higher altitude, circle around, and attempt the landing a second time.
The plane was full of passengers at the time and did land safely.
Troopers found that a 14-year-old male was responsible and they seized the laser.
The investigation is ongoing.
