Ireland: Trainee pilots to picket Dáil

The families of student pilots left stranded in Florida after their training was suspended are to picket the Dail in protest today.

Their course was run by the Enterprise Ireland-backed Pilot Training Centre in Waterford and accredited by the Irish Aviation Authority.

Some of the 80 students had paid up to €80,000 for their training.

The Irish Aviation Authority has offered to pay the airfare home of students who are personally out of pocket.

However, the pilots' families want the Government to intervene and help them recoup some of their fees.
