Plane Carrying Fuel Crash Lands in Intan Jaya, Papua

An aircraft carrying fuel crashed on landing in Intan Jaya, Papua, on Saturday, but no casualties were reported.

On its approach to the runway, strong winds and fog caused the landing gear on the left to snap when the plane touched down. The left wing and propellers hit the ground.

Papua Police spokesman Wachyono said the pilot and one passenger were not injured and the cargo of fuel they were carrying was safe.

The diesel fuel was intended for construction firm UMI, which is building a highway.
