CROSS COUNTY, Arkansas — A pilot was killed in a crop duster crash just east of Highway 75 Saturday morning, Cross County Sheriff confirms.

The Sheriff said the crop duster struck a guide wire that was connected to a radio tower. The crop duster, which belongs to Stokes Flying service, then crashed into a field.

The pilot was 23 years old.

WREG has also reported on two other plane crashes that have happened in Arkansas this year.


PARKIN, Arkansas (KAIT) - One person is dead after a crop duster crash, according to Cross County Sheriff David West.

West said the crash happened Saturday morning in Parkin. A time could not be provided by Parkin Police or Cross County dispatch.

No names have been released in this incident.

  1. I don't know where to locate official statistics but it "feels" like we've lost an abnormally high number of ag pilots this year. The work these men and women do is critical to our food supply yet goes unknown and unnoticed by so many. Fair winds and blue skies, to the perished.

  2. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Dennie many years ago back in 1991-92. I don't know which of the pilots perished in this crash, but I can tell you folks Dennie and Lou are two wonderful people and my heart breaks for them.

  3. Is the comment about Mr. Dennie in the wrong place? There was only one pilot who was not alive in 1991-1992.

  4. This is totally sad I worked for my family a1 flying service in parking years ago. In 1960s we lost a pilot willie woods in the same area
