News Interview - Murray Collings, Chief Executive, Vincent Aviation

News Interview: Murray Collings, Chief Executive, Vincent Aviation, January 09,  2014

In this extended interview with News reporter, Catherine Clifford, the Chief Executive of Vincent Aviation, Murray Collings, explains why his airline wants to obtain an Air Operator's Certificate to run passenger flights between Narrabri and Sydney after the collapse of Brindabella Airlines.

Mr Collings says Darwin-based Vincent Aviation employs 100 people and does a lot of work for mining companies, providing charter flights for Fly-In-Fly-Out workforces in the Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia.

He says his company already has established commercial relationships with a number of mine operators in the Narrabri region and is hoping to expand that business opportunity if Vincent Aviation receives CASA approval for the Narrabri-to-Sydney route.

Murray Collings says, while provision of charter services to mining companies is a big part of the airline's business, he and his staff are very much looking forward to developing a long-term passenger service for the people of Narrabri.

He says he's been working closely with Narrabri Shire Council Mayor, Conrad Bolton, to achieve that end and is hopeful his airline is granted approval for the temporary license.

Murray Collings says Vincent Aviation is also serious about servicing the Narrabri route for many years to come.
