United, American plan several flight upgrades in 2015: Dane County Regional Airport (KMSN), Madison, Wisconsin

The Dane Country Regional Airport will see several flights upgraded to larger aircraft next year.

Airport spokesman Brent McHenry said two daily United Airlines’ Chicago flights will be upgraded from regional jets to larger Airbus aircraft in March. Also, American Airlines plans to use larger aircraft to upgrade flights to Dallas-Fort Worth to include both business and coach classes, starting in April.

The airport will, once again, be a hub of activity for holiday music. More than 500 participants from school, church and other organizations will provide live music from Dec. 8 to Dec. 23.

The airport’s project to add 1,500 covered parking spots is complete. Half of the parking spots opened to the public in late October and the others opened earlier this month.

The new spaces were part of a $20 million project, which was unveiled in February as part of a 20-year parking improvement plan to keep pace with rising airport use. The project added three levels to the airport parking structure, bringing the airport’s covered parking capacity to 4,465 spots.
