A special guest is basing
at the Salina Regional Airport again this year. Did you know that Capt.
Kringle has based out of the Salina Regional Airport every December for
the past five years to make his final preparations for his ever-famous
’round the world flight?
While he is in town, K-State Salina and
the Salina Regional Airport will throw a welcome party fly-in and open
house for the Jolly Ol’ Elf and the good boys and girls of Salina and
the surrounding area, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Salina Airport’s Hangar
600 located at 2720 Arnold Ct. Doors open at 1 p.m.
Santa’s
reindeer will be resting up for the big day, so don’t miss his “new
ride.” Plenty of local aviation assets will be available for tours and
viewing. Don’t miss K-State’s manned and unmanned flight assets!
Kids
of all ages will enjoy free cookies and cocoa (while supplies last)
with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Santa’s entourage of Christmas folk.
With
Ol’ St. Nick’s little elves hard at work in the North Pole, Santa’s
Salina team will be ready with fun crafts and activities for the kiddos.
K-State’s student organizations will make decking your halls easy this
year with opportunities to create ornaments, color pictures, make wish
lists and much more! Pictures with Santa are free but some club
activities do require a small cash donation.
Don’t forget to bring a new unwrapped toy! The Patriot Business Program will be collecting toys for Salina children in need.
SeaPort
Airlines will host a coloring contest and one winner in each of three
age categories will receive a round-trip ticket for themselves and a
guardian on SeaPort.
The Salina Airport is proud to host this
world wide mission and negotiations have already begun for next year.
With so many nice little boys and girls, Santa would be hard pressed to
find a better location.
