The plane is circling the airport to burn off excess fuel. The landing will occur in a grass field. Emergency crews on waiting.

A Cessna aircraft makes an emergency landing at the SI Airport in Jackson County Monday morning after its landing gear fails to fully deploy. A student pilot and an instructor from the SIU Carbondale aviation school were aboard the plane. The aircraft landed without injury to either person. Emergency crews were on scene.
