On April 20, 2019, at 1930 central daylight time, a Robinson Helicopter Company R66, N766WC, impacted an unmarked powerline and terrain during an aerial application of a field near St Jacob, Illinois. The helicopter sustained substantial damage. The airline transport pilot received serious injuries. The helicopter was registered to and operated by Skyline Helicopters LLC under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 as an aerial application flight that was not operating on a flight plan. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The local flight originated from St Jacob, Illinois at 1915.

ST. JACOB, Illinois – Saturday evening around 7:30 pm, a small helicopter was spraying a field when it clipped a power line and crashed.  The incident happened in the 10000 block of West Asper Road in rural Madison County near St. Jacob Illinois.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office tells Fox 2/News 11 the pilot suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office has secured the scene and notified the FAA and NTSB of the crash.
