DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT:    Aircraft ran into a ditch on the ramp after it was started

 DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES:   

The fixed pitch Sensenich propeller suffered damage and will require replacement;

The Lycoming O-360-A4K model engine will require a teardown inspection due to the propeller strike;

The nose gear trunnion broke where it meets the airframe and will require replacement;

The steering struts were both bent;

The lower firewall is distorted in several places, which will require replacement of the firewall assembly;

There is a 6” x 4” hole in the honeycomb belly of the fuselage that will require a patch repair;

The left, right, and nose wheel pants will require replacement or repair due to their damage;

The engine mount is broken and will require rebuild or replacement.
