Traffic helicopter makes emergency landing in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts

A traffic helicopter made an emergency landing in Woburn Tuesday morning due to a possible engine problem, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The Metro Traffic helicopter was taking a regular route with a pilot and one reporter on board, when the pilot said something did not seem right, said George Brown, operations manager for Total Traffic Network.

The pilot decided to make an emergency landing just before 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Tower Office Park near the intersection of Washington Street and Route 128, State Police said.

It was a safe landing and there were no injuries or damage to the helicopter, Brown added.

The helicopter is being examined in Woburn and will eventually be trucked to Beverly Municipal Airport, where the engine will be inspected, Brown said.
