On January 6, 2015, about 1545 Central Standard Time, a Cessna 195B, N2125C, lost engine power during the takeoff roll from Llano Municipal Airport, Llano (KAQO), Texas. The nose pitched forward and the propeller struck the runway and nosed over. The pilot and his passenger were not injured, but the airplane was substantially damaged. The airplane was registered to and operated by the pilot under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident, and no flight plan had been filed. The cross-country flight was originating at the time of the accident.
According to the pilot's accident report, right at liftoff the engine went from full power to idle power and the pilot thought the engine had quit. The airplane pitched forward and the propeller struck the asphalt runway. The airplane turned slightly to the right, went off the runway and nosed over.
Federal Aviation Administration inspectors went to the accident site and reported finding numerous propeller strike marks in the runway pavement. They also documented tire tracks and propeller strikes going off the right side of the runway and into the dirt and terminating at the inverted airplane.
LLANO — A husband and wife from Keller walked away with no reported injuries from a plane crash at 3:35 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Llano Municipal Airport, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The man flying the plane, 54-year-old Timothy Patrick Sager, a pilot with American Airlines, and his wife, 53-year-old Karen Long Sager, were not injured in the crash, DPS reported.
The single-engine Cessna 195 attempted to take off from the runway when the accident occurred, officials said.
“(The) pilot was attempting to take off southbound. (He) reported the engine malfunctioned, and the plane crashed soon after becoming airborne,” the report stated. “(The) plane came to rest upside down facing northeast.”
DPS and the Federal Aviation Administration are continuing the investigation.

The pilot of a four-seat aircraft was uninjured when the plane flipped on its head at the Llano Municipal Airport on Tuesday, Jan. 6, Llano County Sheriffs Department Officials said.
Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn confirmed the accident and said there was “pretty good damage to the plane but none to the pilot.”
The female pilot is currently unidentified.
Blackburn said the aircraft will have to remain in place until representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration arrive at the scene. Texas DPS Troopers are also working the scene.
