High-flying fun could be seen -- and heard -- over Broomfield as the 10th annual Rocky Mountain Airshow filled the skies on Saturday.

From the precision of a new Air Force fighter to the relaxed pace of slowly-floating balloons, the show is for all speeds of flight enthusiasts. Featured activities at the weekend air show fill both the sky and the ground, highlights include the Air Force's F-22 Raptor, challenging acrobatic air acts, an array of grounded aircraft and the chance learn about the science behind aviation.

The show drew a crowd of hundreds to the Broomfield airport Saturday -- among them was Phil Hedlund of Lafayette, who brought his 6-year-old son.

"We had a great time, and we would definitely do it again," he said. "We went inside a B-26, saw the F-22 jet and even looked around a Chinook helicopter."

The fun continues until 5 p.m. today; the gates close at 4 p.m. Among the highlights will be U.S. AFA Glider Team at 1:25 p.m., the RedStars Formation Demonstration Team at 1:40 p.m., Warbirds on Parade at 1:45 p.m., Jets on Parade at 2:40 p.m., Pyro the Jet Truck at 2:50 p.m., and the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team at 3:30 p.m.
