Delaware officials celebrate new maintenance and repair facility at New Castle Airport (KILG), Wilmington, Delaware

NEW CASTLE, Del. — State officials are celebrating the opening of a new aircraft service facility at the New Castle airport.

Gov. Jack Markell and state economic development director Alan Levin planned to join other officials Thursday evening at the grand opening of Hawker Beechcraft Services' Northeast Regional Service Center.

The facility features a 60,000-square-foot hangar.

The Delaware Economic Development Office awarded Hawker Beechcraft a strategic fund grant last year to open the facility.

Officials say the company will create 100 new, full-time jobs within five years, with 35 full-time workers on the job by the end of this year.
