A pilot and his passenger were uninjured Monday morning after an emergency forced a sudden landing on a highway moments after taking off from the Granbury Regional Airport.
Aircraft experienced engine failure and landed on a street striking a guardrail.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the pilot of a single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft was departing the airport when the plane lost power.
The pilot, identified as 67-year-old James Winston Jr., of Tolar, brought the plane down on Pearl Street/Business 377, just south of the airport and west of downtown Granbury. When the plane touched down the gear failed and the aircraft came to rest on its belly about 1,100 feet from runway 32.
The plane had visible damage to the gears, wings and prop. It's not clear what caused the plane to lose power.
There was one passenger aboard the aircraft, 26-year-old Justin Winston, of Tolar. Both men were uninjured, officials said.
Federal Aviation Administration records show the Rockwell Commander 112 is owned by the pilot.
The Federal Administration Administration will be investigating the incident.
